UPA-II IN DANGER??
62TMC THREATENS GOVT.
After three years of smooth going, today the leader of TMC Mamta Banerjee threatened the central Govt. to put their support out of UPA 2, after the unexpected price rise of petrol. TMC has always talked about aam-admi(common people) and will do so, told Mamta in a press conference. After congress itself, TMC has the second largest share in UPA 2.She told , they are not taking any urgent decision ,as PM is not in the country.
In INDIA, in 2011 the price of petroleum product hiked by around 40%.Current petrol price in INDIA is Rs 68.74 , while the rate in Pakistan is Rs 42, Srilanka is Rs 50, Bangladesh is Rs 45.2 .(all are per liter) .
She told , we were silenced and not heard in the cabinet. As their only cabinet minister, Dinesh Trivedi, when he raises a public issue, he told to be kept quiet. She also told, C ongress may be a large party but it stands on our legs, as it has no majority.
She told that she will talk to the prime minister soon and will take some decision, and told in the absence of PM such a decision should not be taken.
Banerjee said, "Without consulting anyone the government unilaterally raises prices of petrol, kerosene oil, LPG and even coal. I kept quiet on many issues even after coal prices were raised recently. For two years, I tolerated this despite pressure being put on the common people. Someone will have to take a lead role to uphold the people's cause. If we make a sacrifice and if that helps people, let it be so" .
So, the chance of a large turn around can not be ignored.
